Every project begins with the site. Orientation, topography, and surrounding landscape inform the design from the outset, shaping homes that feel grounded in their environment and intrinsically connected to place.
light
Natural light is fundamental to how space is experienced. Through careful orientation, openings, and spatial sequencing, we shape light to bring rhythm, depth, and atmosphere to the interior.
material
Materials are selected for their authenticity, texture, and longevity. Timber, stone, and concrete are used with restraint, allowing their natural qualities to define the architectural expression.
craft
Design is realised through detail. From spatial proportions to the meeting of materials, each element is carefully resolved to achieve clarity, refinement, and a sense of quiet precision. We believe the most enduring design emerges from a deep understanding of place.

Place Architecture specialises in contemporary residential projects, including new homes, alterations and additions, and carefully considered renovations. The practice also undertakes select commercial projects, particularly boutique hospitality and workplace environments where architecture, materiality, and place are central to the experience.

We provide a full architectural service from initial concept design through to construction documentation and on-site involvement during the build.
