A ridge-top residence designed to capture expansive views across Pittwater.

Perched high above Pittwater on a dramatic ridge-top site, this home is carefully positioned to capture expansive views through the surrounding eucalypts while drawing natural light deep into the interiors. The residence extends across two consolidated lots, allowing the design to respond directly to the landscape and orientation.

Anchored to the steep terrain, the design lifts a series of generous living platforms that immerse the home in its setting. In the public wing, expansive volumes unfold through double-height voids and stacked stone walls, creating moments of scale and drama. A quieter bedroom and library wing is accessed via a timber-lined corridor, offering a more intimate and contemplative sequence of spaces.

A restrained palette of natural materials brings warmth and texture to the interiors, including oak and hardwood timber, marble and stone, custom plaster finishes, and brass hardware. Operable sun-shading and natural ventilation allow the home to respond to changing conditions, supported by rooftop solar panels and rainwater harvesting for household and garden use.
